Ogre Hospital accused of failing to treat burned seven-year-old boy

A seven-year-old boy is receiving medical care after suffering second-degree burns to approximately 18% of his body. The accident occurred when the child accidentally poured hot water over his head while at a sauna with family and friends.

Following the incident, the Emergency Medical Service (NMPD) stabilized the child at home before transporting him to Ogre Hospital. However, the child's father has raised serious allegations regarding the hospital's response, claiming that despite the presence of NMPD medics and an ambulance driver in the reception area, no hospital staff attended to the boy for at least 10 minutes.

Due to the lack of immediate attention at Ogre Hospital, the NMPD brigade ultimately decided to transfer the child to the Children's Clinical University Hospital in Riga. The NMPD has stated that a hospital's refusal to examine a patient is not a routine occurrence.
