Kisbér social care home fire

Overview

A four-year-old girl is in critical condition at the Bethesda Children's Hospital in Budapest after a fire at a transitional family home in Kisbér. The fire, caused by an electrical short circuit in the room where the child was sleeping, resulted in extensive burns to her face, neck, arms, abdomen, and knees.

The child has undergone two surgeries to replace burned skin tissue and remains on a ventilator under sedation. Her father reported that while surgeries were successful, her condition remains life-threatening.
