Dominican Republic institutions announce new academic, migration, and digital governance initiatives

In the Dominican Republic, several institutional developments are underway regarding education, migration, and digital governance. The Americas Institute of Technology (ITLA) and Spain Business School (SBS) have signed an academic cooperation agreement to expand international training, master’s programs, and professional development for faculty and alumni.

Simultaneously, the National Institute of Migration (INM RD) is exploring new cooperation avenues with the United Nations. Discussions with agencies including UNHCR, UNICEF, IOM, and ILO focused on strengthening research, specialized training, and evidence-based public migration policies.

In the realm of digital governance, the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC) has introduced the NORTIC E1 2026. This updated regulation establishes new guidelines for the management of social media by state institutions to improve communication and interaction with citizens.
