Ogun State pastor allegedly kills wife before committing suicide

A clergyman, identified as Bidemi Odukoya, the Shepherd of the Celestial Church of Christ, Iri Orun Parish, allegedly killed his wife before committing suicide in Ogun State, Nigeria.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, August 31, in the Ogooluwa community of the Ifo Local Government Area. Reports indicate that Odukoya attacked his wife with a machete and a heavy wooden stool, causing fatal injuries. The couple’s 14-year-old son reportedly witnessed the attack and raised an alarm.

Following the attack, Odukoya allegedly fled the residence and headed toward the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. Witnesses reported seeing him pacing near the road before he reportedly threw himself in front of a heavy-duty truck at approximately 7:00 a.m., resulting in his immediate death. Neighbors noted that the couple had a history of domestic disputes that had previously required police intervention.
