Ogun State pastor murder-suicide incident

On August 31, a domestic dispute in the Ogooluwa community of Ogun State, Nigeria, resulted in the deaths of Bidemi Odukoya, a Celestial Church of Christ pastor, and his wife, Adenike.

Reports indicate that Odukoya attacked his wife with a machete and a wooden stool during an argument in the early hours of the morning. The couple’s 14-year-old son reportedly witnessed the attack. Following the incident, Odukoya fled toward the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, where he allegedly threw himself in front of a moving truck at Coker Junction, resulting in his immediate death.

While initial reports described the couple as friendly and respectful residents, subsequent details noted that neighbors had observed a history of domestic disputes that previously required police intervention.
