Ogun State police arrest two suspects for armed robbery

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Adeyinka Onakomaya and Olayiwola Kehinde, for their alleged involvement in armed robbery, carjacking, and unlawful possession of firearms.

The arrests followed a tactical investigation into the recovery of a stolen red Toyota Matrix in April 2026. Operatives tracked the suspects to hideouts in the Babaode area of Ota, Ogun State, and parts of Lagos State.

During the operation, police recovered three locally made pistols and eighteen live cartridges. Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects and their gang were responsible for several robberies and vehicle snatchings across the Ota, Iju, Babaode, and Atan areas. The suspects are currently cooperating with detectives as investigations continue to identify other members of the syndicate.
