Nigerian police recover stolen vehicles, seize drugs and foil cattle thefts

The Nigeria Police Force announced the recovery and repatriation of two vehicles—a 2018 Lexus SUV and a 2025 Toyota Hilux—stolen in Abuja and trafficked to Burkina Faso, in a joint operation with INTERPOL’s National Central Bureaus in Abuja and Ouagadougou.

In Edo State, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, together with the Nigerian Army, seized a total of 1,359 kg of cannabis and cannabis seeds from a four‑bedroom bungalow used as a warehouse, and arrested two alleged traffickers.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command arrested four suspects, recovered a locally fabricated pistol and quantities of cannabis, while the Ogun State Police recovered six stolen cows, seized a blue Nissan Cabstar truck, and prevented a suspected kidnapping.

Katsina State police, supported by the military and community watch groups, intercepted cattle rustlers, recovered 20 cows and 56 sheep (76 animals total) and arrested two armed bandits.

Kano State police’s Special Intervention Squad retrieved a white Toyota Hilux and a black Hyundai Elantra stolen from Abuja and Kano, respectively, and detained one suspect linked to an interstate vehicle‑theft syndicate.
