Ohio State dominates Ball State 56-3 in season opener

No. 1 ranked Ohio State opened its season with a 56-3 victory over Ball State. Junior quarterback Julian Sayin led the offense, completing 21 of 25 passes for 320 yards and three passing touchdowns, while adding a rushing touchdown.

Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith recorded eight receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Head coach Ryan Day opted to rest Smith and other starters during the second half to prioritize health and preparation for the upcoming top-five matchup against No. 5 Texas.

Other notable performances included Devin McCuin, who had six catches for 97 yards and a touchdown, and running back Bo Jackson, who maintained his position as the team's primary ball carrier.
