Ohio State football attracts NFL scouts and preseason honors

Ohio State football is drawing significant attention from both professional scouts and preseason award committees as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

During fall training camp in Columbus, a large presence of NFL talent evaluators was noted on the sidelines. According to reports from former linebacker Bobby Carpenter, scouts from various organizations, including the Dallas Cowboys, observed the roster. One scout reportedly remarked that the team appears bigger, faster, and potentially better than the previous year, despite the program losing several key players to the NFL Draft.

In terms of individual accolades, On3 has named three Buckeyes to its preseason All-America teams. Junior wide receiver Jeremiah Smith earned a first-team selection following a highly productive two-season start. Offensive linemen Luke Montgomery and Austin Siereveld also received preseason All-America honors, with Montgomery earning second-team status and Siereveld being named to the third team.
