OJK promotes financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia

The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) is intensifying efforts to strengthen Islamic financial literacy and inclusion. Through the Expo Keuangan dan Seminar Syariah (EKSiS) 2026 held in Jakarta, the regulator aims to foster a deeper understanding and trust in Sharia-compliant products. Dicky Kartikoyono, OJK Executive, emphasized that Islamic finance focuses on building justice, partnership, and community welfare rather than just transactions.

In a separate regional initiative, OJK South Kalimantan collaborated with Bank Kalsel to promote financial management habits among students. During an educational event in Banjarbaru, Bank Kalsel facilitated the opening of 230 student savings accounts (SimPel) for elementary, middle, and high school students to ensure that literacy efforts are met with direct access to formal financial services.
