Okanagan Indian Band lifts evacuation orders for Bradley Creek wildfire residents

The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) has rescinded evacuation orders for several properties affected by the Bradley Creek wildfire. Residents at 21, 25, 27, 31, 47, and 59 GoodWater Drive are now permitted to return to their homes.

The OKIB advised returning residents to exercise extreme caution, noting that conditions may have changed significantly and hazards may remain on individual properties or in the surrounding area. Specific warnings include watching for structural damage, fallen power lines, damaged trees, and sharp debris.

To manage health risks from smoke, soot, and ash, the band recommended wearing N95 masks, using protective clothing, and replacing furnace or air conditioner filters. Residents were also advised to check the safety of refrigerated or frozen food following power outages and to use HEPA-equipped vacuums when cleaning ash.
