Okinawa announces major 2026 cultural and sports festivals

The OKINAWA FES Milafete Hokkaido 2026 will take place on 5‑6 September 2026 at Escon Field Hokkaido. The two‑day music festival will feature artists such as MONGOL800, UKULELE GYPSY – Kiyosaku from MONGOL800, and the Okinawa All‑Stars, along with DJs, MCs and live‑art acts, showcasing Okinawan music, food and traditional culture in Hokkaido for the first time.

The 3rd Okinawa Karate World Festival is scheduled for 30 July‑2 August 2026 at the Okinawa Convention Center in Ginowan City. The free‑entry event will include a youth competition, a general demonstration tournament, and a karate seminar as part of a week‑long “Okinawa Karate Week” from 28 July‑3 August. Organisers expect participants from 39 countries, about 2,900 karate enthusiasts, to gather for competitions, exhibitions and cultural activities.
