Oktoberfest Blumenau begins 41st edition in Santa Catarina

The 41st edition of Oktoberfest Blumenau has officially commenced in Santa Catarina, Brazil, running through October 25. The event, held at Parque Vila Germânica, celebrates German traditions through music, folklore, gastronomy, and parades. This year's festivities include the debut of an AI-developed band, Frida und Fritz, and the second edition of the German Dance Festival, featuring 25 groups.

Organizers clarified that access to the Galegão space will be free for those already inside the Vila Germânica park, though a separate fee of R$ 8 will apply to the Festzelt. The festival's opening parade took place on Rua XV de Novembro, featuring traditional costumes and allegorical floats.

In Santa Cruz do Sul, the 41st Oktoberfest is also underway, scheduled to run until October 25. The event expects to build on the success of the previous year, which saw 420,000 visitors and generated approximately 60 million reais for the local economy. This edition features a cashless payment system and international musical performances.
