Oktoberfest celebrations in Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil

Overview

Regional Oktoberfest celebrations are expanding across Brazil, highlighting German heritage through music, gastronomy, and tradition.

In Rio Grande do Sul, the 37th Oktoberfest in Igrejinha is scheduled to take place from October 9 to 18 at the Almiro Grings Event Park. The festival will feature over 80 attractions across nine stages, including performances by Simone Mendes, Alok, Di Ferrero, and Turma do Pagode, alongside traditional German activities such as parades, folk presentations, and Germanic games. The event continues its focus on sustainability by using recycled materials for decorations.

In Porto Alegre, the second official Oktoberfest is scheduled for October 10, 2026. This free event will occupy the city’s Historic Center with 12 hours of programming, featuring a thematic parade with over 200 participants and performances by the rock band Cachorro Grande.

Other major festivities include the Oktoberfest in Blumenau, which will feature international musical acts such as Dorfrocker and Die Kirchdorfer. However, the opening of the traditional Hofbräuhaus brewery in Blumenau has been postponed due to heavy rainfall. Additionally, the Quarteto Schmitt has announced new musical releases intended to refresh the traditional repertoire for the Blumenau festivities. In Petrópolis, the local Oktoberfest will also offer free entry alongside a diverse musical lineup.
