Oktoberfest celebrations held in Detroit and Cincinnati

Various regions in the United States are hosting Oktoberfest celebrations, honoring German beer culture and traditions.

In Metro Detroit, festivities run from mid-September through October. Establishments such as the Dakota Inn Rathskeller, which has maintained traditions since 1933, will offer imported beers and Alpine wines. Kuhnhenn Brewing Company in Warren will feature live German brass bands, specialty menus, and competitions like stein-hoisting. Jacoby’s, the city’s oldest biergarten, also remains a central location for German brews.

In the Cincinnati area, the 50th annual Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is scheduled for September 17 to 20. As the second-largest Oktoberfest celebration in the world, the event is supported by regional venues offering extended festivities. Kreimer’s Bier Haus provides German cuisine and live music, while Hofbrauhaus hosts weekend celebrations throughout September. MadTree Brewing is also participating with seasonal beer flights and a Zieglerfest event featuring Bavarian-inspired food and music.
