Oktoberfest celebrations scheduled in Columbus and Missoula

Various regional celebrations of Oktoberfest and German heritage are scheduled for the upcoming fall season in Columbus, Ohio, and Missoula, Montana.

Hofbräuhaus Columbus will host a month of festivities starting in September. Events include a keg tapping for Original Oktoberfest Lager on September 1, a celebration with Schmidt’s and the Columbus Männerchor on September 10, and a ceremonial keg tapping on September 18. Additionally, the venue will host a “Barktoberfest” dog adoption event on September 13 in partnership with the Franklin County Dog Shelter.

In Missoula, Montana, Bayern Brewing will host three Oktoberfest celebrations on September 18, September 25, and October 2, featuring authentic German cuisine and music. The festivities include qualifying rounds for the Montana State Stein Holding Championships. The season will culminate in GermanFest at Caras Park on October 3, which features the state championship finals. The winner of the Montana competition will advance to a national competition in Cincinnati.
