Old Forester Launches Triple Char Bourbon in 117 Series
Old Forester announced the release of the 117 Series – Triple Char, a Kentucky Straight Bourbon made entirely from whiskey distilled at the brand’s historic Main Street distillery in Louisville. The barrels are charred three times longer than standard, giving the 7‑year‑old spirit intensified oak, spice and fruit notes such as pecan praline, crisp apple and cinnamon.
Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo highlighted the launch as a new chapter for the 117 Series, emphasizing the innovative triple‑char process and the milestone of using only whiskey from the micro‑distillery. The bourbon is priced at $64.99 and is sold directly from the distillery and selected Kentucky retailers.
Old Forester, owned by Brown‑Forman, joins its previous limited‑edition releases like High Angels’ Share and Whiskey Row Fire, showcasing the company's ongoing experimentation with barrel treatments and small‑batch production.
