Ole Miss implements new security protocols for LSU game
Ole Miss has announced several new security and access protocols ahead of its upcoming football game against LSU. To ensure an accurate accounting of all individuals entering and exiting campus, the university will require LSU to provide a complete passenger manifest before arrival, as well as an updated copy before the team is permitted to depart Oxford.
The manifest must include all players, coaches, analysts, and support staff. LSU buses will be staged in a secure area after the game while personnel conduct a final count to compare the inbound and outbound lists. Any discrepancies may require individuals to provide identification and proof of affiliation.
Additionally, Ole Miss is implementing strict rules for the student section at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. To mitigate tensions following recent conflicts between the fanbases, no person wearing opposing team gear or colors will be permitted to enter the student section. Anyone found wearing LSU apparel or colors within that section will be removed. These measures follow heightened social media vitriol and physical altercations during previous matchups between the two schools.
