Olga Kefalogianni promotes Greek tourism at Tokyo expo

Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni attended the Tourism Expo Japan 2026 in Tokyo to strengthen bilateral tourism relations and increase visitor flows between Greece and Japan. During the event, she participated in a ministerial roundtable organized by the World Tourism Organization, where she presented Greece’s strategy for developing resilient destinations and expanding tourism activities year-round.

Kefalogianni’s agenda included discussions on enhancing air connectivity, specifically meeting with Japan Airlines Vice President Ross Leggett to emphasize the importance of direct flights between the two nations. She also met with Japan’s tourism commissioner to promote Greece’s cultural heritage and natural environment, focusing on diversifying the market through niche sectors such as mountain, maritime, gastronomic, wine, and wellness tourism. The mission aims to leverage existing cooperation memorandums to coordinate efforts between governments and tourism industry stakeholders.
