Olkusz high school and Sobolewo preschool celebrate landmark anniversaries

The 110th anniversary of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Olkusz and the 105th year since it was named after King Kazimierz Wielki were marked with a gala at the local cultural centre. School director Irena Majda welcomed guests, including county executive Bogumił Sobczyk, who highlighted the school's history and community ties. Performances by students and speeches from local officials filled the programme.

In Sobolewo, the kindergarten named after Jasia and Małgosi commemorated its 75th year of operation. The ceremony brought together current and former staff, parents, municipal representatives and clergy. Director Katarzyna Staroń presented a historic overview compiled from archives and interviews, introduced a refreshed logo, and children performed a polonaise and the kindergarten’s hymn.

Both events underscored the role of longstanding educational institutions in their local communities.
