Overview
Throughout the summer and early autumn of 2026, Poland held extensive celebrations for marriage milestones, institutional anniversaries, and community achievements. Marriage commemorations remained a central theme. In early June, towns like Klimontów, Krzyżanów, and Świnoujście awarded presidential medals to golden-wedding couples. Musicians Edyta and Łukasz Golec marked their own milestone with a new duet, while Bełchatów, Gliwice, and Jadów hosted ceremonies for gold and diamond anniversaries. In Świdnik, Mayor Marcin Dmowski noted that a fifty-year marriage “is an undeniable achievement deserving special celebration.”
By late August, the trend continued in Somonino, where Mayor Marian Kryszewski honored 19 couples, including those celebrating 65 years. In Świnoujście, Mayor Joanna Agatowska presented medals to four couples celebrating their 50th anniversary. In Raczkowo, Klara and Czesław Patelski were honored for their 60th anniversary, while 12 couples in Kazimierz Dolny received the ‘Medal for Long-term Marriage’. In early September, celebrations continued in Bełchatów, where eight couples were honored at the Regional Museum's Wedding Hall. In Świdnica, over 50 couples were honored at the Park Hotel during ceremonies led by President Beata Moskal-Słaniewska and head of the Civil Registry Office Dorota Kruźlak.
On September 10, the Władysławów municipality held a ceremony at the Dębowa restaurant to honor ten couples celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Mayor Elżbieta Klanowska and municipal council members presented the jubilarians with medals, diplomas, and flowers. On September 23, Ornontowice hosted a ceremony at the ARterii CKiP hall for several dozen couples. Attended by Mayor Marcin Kotyczka and Vice Voivode of Silesia Michał Kopański, the event honored Golden Wedding recipients from 2025 and Diamond Wedding couples from 2025 and 2026. The Long-Term Marriage Medal programme also became a subject of political debate regarding administrative backlogs in President Karol Nawrocki’s office.
