Olomouc and Přerov present candidate lists for upcoming Czech municipal elections
In Olomouc, the local KDU‑ČSL party unveiled a ten‑person slate for the autumn municipal elections, featuring Olympic fencer Jakub Jurka as a first‑time candidate, lawyer Renata Konečná, municipal councilor Rostislav Hainc, and others. The list emphasizes improvements to city transport, safer routes for children and seniors, and better parking solutions for the city of about 100,000 residents.
In Přerov, a new coalition called Změna pro Přerov, comprising the Pirates, STAN and independent candidates, released its candidate roster led by councilor Petr Dostalík. The platform prioritises alleviating chronic parking shortages, proposing green or solar‑covered parking structures, expanding public transport, and revitalising urban spaces such as the Bečva riverfront. The coalition also pledges modern sports facilities, investment incentives, and enhanced services for seniors and schools.
