Olomouc Region Fuel Prices Decline After Government Price Caps

In the Olomoucký region of the Czech Republic, fuel prices fell during the last week. The average price of the most‑sold gasoline, Natural 95, is now 42.61 CZK per litre, 0.29 CZK cheaper than the previous week, while diesel slipped to 41.42 CZK per litre, down 1.94 CZK.

The cheapest stations are in the Prostějovsko area, where gasoline costs 42.28 CZK/l and diesel 41.28 CZK/l. The highest prices in the region are recorded in Jeseník, with gasoline at 43.03 CZK/l and diesel at 42.54 CZK/l. Compared with a year ago, gasoline is still about 8.75 CZK/l higher, while diesel was 8.69 CZK/l lower then.

Since 28 February, after the United States and Israel struck Iran and oil prices jumped, fuel costs have risen. The Ministry of Finance has been setting daily maximum prices for stations since early April, the government capped distributor margins and reduced the consumption tax on diesel. Nationwide, the average price of Natural 95 is 42.53 CZK/l and diesel 41.36 CZK/l.
