Romania police conduct crime prevention campaigns and search for missing child

Various law enforcement activities and incidents are being reported across Romania. In Bacău, a massive search operation involving over 250 personnel, including police, gendarmes, firefighters, and volunteers, is underway to locate a 4-year-old boy named Avram Iosif Laurențiu, who disappeared from his home in Dofteana. Authorities are utilizing thermal imaging cameras and a helicopter to assist in the search.

In several counties, police are conducting Crime Prevention Week activities. In Argeș, Bihor, Neamț, and Vrancea, officers are engaging with students and teachers to address topics such as cyberbullying, online safety, road safety, and substance abuse. In Hunedoara, the Covasna Police Inspectorate launched a campaign titled ‘Choose Courage! Break the Silence!’ to combat domestic violence, noting an increase in reported cases.

Individual criminal incidents include a 17-year-old detained in Bazna for assaulting a man and damaging a vehicle, a 12-year-old in Simeria investigated for using a hunting dog to attack a cat, and a student assaulted near dormitories in Chișinău. Additionally, police in Dâmbovița conducted traffic controls, resulting in several cases of driving without a license or under the influence of alcohol.
