Oltenia municipalities show varying PNRR funding per capita
Two municipalities in the Oltenia region of Romania have completed significant projects funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), though the distribution of funds varies significantly when adjusted for population.
Craiova secured approximately 80 million euros through 27 contracts, covering thermal rehabilitation for 52 apartment blocks, energy renovation for 15 educational units, the purchase of 22 electric buses, and various hospital and urban planning upgrades. This equates to roughly 342 euros per inhabitant.
In contrast, Caracal utilized approximately 30 million euros across 12 PNRR projects. While the total amount is lower than Craiova’s, the investment per capita is approximately 1,095 euros, which is more than three times the amount allocated per resident in Craiova.
