Olympiakos signs water‑polo star Harkov, nears key football transfers as preseason kicks off

Greek sports club Olympiakos announced the signing of Croatian left‑handed water‑polo player Konstantin Harkov, a 29‑year‑old international who has won a world title, a European championship and an Olympic silver medal with Croatia. The club is also close to completing two major football deals: 23‑year‑old Serbian forward Petar Stancic from Bulgaria’s Ludoogkorts for around €8 million and Spanish winger Joel Roca from Girona for roughly €4.5 million, with final paperwork pending.

Olympiakos continues to pursue centre‑back Domingos Duarte and Angolan defender Davide Carro, while former player Pablo Mafeo returns after two years away. The team began its summer preseason at the Renti training centre, with coach José Luis Mendilibar overseeing the first session on 29 June and preparing for a training camp in the Netherlands the following week.
