Olympiacos prepares for new season at Crete International Basketball Tournament

Olympiacos is participating in the 6th Crete International Basketball Tournament in Heraklion, Greece, held from September 4 to 6. The EuroLeague and Greek champions will face high-level competition, including Fenerbahçe, Armani Milano, and Red Star Belgrade.

Head coach Georgios Bartzokas expressed satisfaction with the current roster despite recent changes and a shortened preseason period. He noted that the shrinking window for preparation due to international duties makes team chemistry more difficult to build. The team is integrating new players, including Jean Monegro, while managing the return of international players.

Olympiacos will compete without captain Kostas Papanikolaou, who is dealing with a knee issue, and Giannoulis Larentzakis, who is reportedly in discussions to join AEK. The club has brought its three major trophies from the previous season to the tournament for fan exhibition. The event features four EuroLeague teams and offers fans digital ticketing options.
