Olympiacos signs goalkeeper Balša Popović from Red Star

Olympiacos announced the acquisition of 26‑year‑old goalkeeper Balša Popović on July 3, 2026, and released a welcome video the next day. The Greek club will pay a transfer fee of €1.5 million to Red Star Belgrade, which will retain a 15 % sell‑on clause should Popović move again.

Popović, a 1.94 m tall Montenegrin international, arrived after an impressive season in the Serbian SuperLiga with OFK Beograd, where he played on loan from Red Star and was named the league’s top goalkeeper with 34 appearances. He has a total of 105 senior matches across several Serbian clubs. Olympiacos signed him to a five‑year contract and expects him to compete for the starting role in the team’s goal.
