Olympiacos signs Montenegrin goalkeeper Balsa Popovic
Greek club Olympiacos announced the acquisition of 26‑year‑old Montenegrin goalkeeper Balsa Popovic on a permanent deal in early July 2026. Popovic, born in Kotor on 10 June 2000, arrived from Serbian side OFK Beograd after a series of loan spells at clubs including OFK Grbalj, Kolubara, Arsenal Tivat and FK Gorstak, accumulating over 100 senior appearances.
In his first press conference Popovic described Olympiacos as a "European giant", expressed excitement about playing in front of the club’s supporters, and said he dreams of winning the domestic double and featuring in the Champions League. The signing adds a modern, decisive presence to the team's goalkeeping roster.
