Olympiacos nears deal for Markus Pedersen

Olympiacos is nearing a deal to sign Norwegian right-back Markus Pedersen. After a period of uncertainty where the club appeared to be pivoting toward Fiorentina's Brazilian defender Dondó, reports indicate that the negotiations for Pedersen are back on track.

Pedersen has been in Athens since Thursday to undergo medical examinations. Sources suggest he is close to signing a four-year contract, with an official announcement expected as early as Saturday or Sunday. While Olympiacos reportedly made a €10 million approach for Dondó, negotiations with Fiorentina did not reach a final agreement, leaving the Norwegian defender as the primary target.

In addition to the right-back position, the club is actively pursuing reinforcements for other roles, including winger and central midfielder positions, as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.
