Olympiacos pursuit of Markus Pedersen

Overview

Olympiacos has moved toward securing Norwegian defender Markus Pedersen from Torino. Earlier reports indicated the club was finalizing its search for a right-back, having also explored a €10 million approach for Fiorentina’s Dante.

Following a period of uncertainty where the club appeared to be pivoting toward Fiorentina’s Brazilian defender Dondó, negotiations for Pedersen have returned to track. While the approach for Dondó did not reach a final agreement, Pedersen remains the primary target.

The 26-year-old international has been in Athens to undergo medical examinations and is close to signing a four-year contract. An official announcement is expected as early as Saturday or Sunday. The transfer is valued at approximately 8 million euros, comprising a 6 million euro fixed fee and 2 million euros in performance-related bonuses.

As the transfer window approaches its conclusion, Olympiacos is also actively pursuing reinforcements for winger and central midfielder positions.
