Oman public revenues rise 13% in first half of 2026

Oman's public revenues increased by 13% during the first half of 2026, reaching approximately 6.602 billion Omani riyals (roughly $17.14 billion). This growth was primarily driven by a 10% rise in net oil revenues, which totaled 3.332 billion riyals, supported by an average oil selling price of $74 per barrel and an average production of 1.074 million barrels per day.

Net gas revenues saw a significant increase of 32%, reaching 1.164 billion riyals. Current revenues also grew by 6% to 2.045 billion riyals.

Public spending rose by 9% to 6.619 billion riyals due to higher current and developmental expenditures. Current expenditures reached 4.369 billion riyals, while developmental spending for ministries and civil units totaled 798 million riyals, including 146 million riyals dedicated to economic transformation projects. The total public debt stood at 14.16 billion riyals, representing a slight increase of 0.3% compared to the same period in 2025.
