Oman's oil and gas output surges in first half of 2026

Oman's natural gas production rose 6.7% in the first half of 2026, reaching 29.54 billion cubic metres, with associated gas up 5.6% to 6.60 bcm and non‑associated gas—including imports—up 7% to 22.94 bcm. Industrial gas consumption increased 7.5% to 14.86 bcm, while power‑plant use jumped 13.7% to 8.28 bcm. Oil output also climbed sharply, with total production rising 10.6% to 198.0 million barrels, an average of 1.094 million barrels per day, and the average crude price advancing to $80.9 per barrel, a 9.4% increase. Export volumes grew modestly, up 2.4% to about 155.2 million barrels.

These figures, released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, underscore the strengthening role of the energy sector in the Sultanate’s economy during the first six months of 2026.
