Omar Martínez nears return to TC Pick Up in Balcarce

Omar Martínez, the 2022 TC Pick Up champion, is close to confirming his return to the category for the upcoming race in Balcarce, scheduled for September 27. Martínez indicated that his participation is likely, noting that he is currently working to finalize the necessary budget.

Martínez has not competed as a regular driver in the category since November 26, 2023. His most recent appearance was a special non-scoring entry in Paraná, where he demonstrated competitive pace by qualifying 11th and running in 7th position before a motor temperature issue forced him to retire from the final.

The driver expressed interest in the Balcarce event because the vehicle he used in Paraná is available. It remains unclear whether he will compete under a special authorization again or if he intends to submit a formal request to the ACTC to rejoin the category as a full-time competitor.
