Omnicom Group to cut 15,000 jobs following IPG acquisition
Following the acquisition of Interpublic Group (IPG), Omnicom Group is undergoing a significant global restructuring. As part of this integration, MullenLowe Group Sri Lanka has rebranded to BBDO Sri Lanka to align with Omnicom’s global strategy.
Omnicom CFO Phil Angelastro announced that the company expects to reduce its workforce by approximately 15,000 positions by the end of 2026. This reduction, which will leave the company with roughly 105,000 employees, is attributed to synergies from the IPG merger, the elimination of duplicate corporate costs, outsourcing, offshoring, and the sale of non-strategic business units.
Despite the planned job cuts, Omnicom reported positive financial indicators, including $6 billion in core operation revenue for the second quarter of 2026. The company is currently focusing its strategy on scale, technology, and AI-driven marketing transformation.
