Omoda and Jaecoo reach 60,000 vehicle sales milestone in Spain
The Chinese automotive brands Omoda and Jaecoo, part of the Chery Group, have reached a milestone of 60,000 units sold in Spain. This achievement comes less than three years after the brands began commercial operations in the country. Sales growth has been rapid, with 2024 seeing 8,885 registrations and 2025 seeing 23,691 units, representing a 167% increase over the previous year.
Of the total units sold, approximately 73% were to private customers, while 16% went to companies and 11% to rent-a-car services. Electrified vehicles account for over 60% of the total volume sold, with more than 35,000 electrified units registered. The Omoda 5 model has been a significant contributor, surpassing 30,000 units sold.
In a separate development, OMODA & JAECOO presented the new Omoda X SUV in Wuhu, China. The vehicle features an infrared thermal imaging night vision system capable of detecting obstacles up to 90 meters away. The SUV includes advanced connectivity features, such as an AI assistant for natural language interaction, and is expected to be available in electric and plug-in hybrid configurations.
