OMODA & JAECOO expands hybrid technology and brand presence
OMODA & JAECOO has demonstrated its new 5-kWh hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) technology via the OMODA 7 SHS-H during a recent event in China. The technology features a larger battery capacity designed to provide a more electric-like driving experience, supporting a ‘Super Quiet Mode’ and enhanced cabin refinement by reducing engine noise and vibration during acceleration and stop-and-go traffic. The system also includes a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, allowing the battery to support various smart lifestyle modes and onboard power functions.
The OMODA 7 SHS-H is scheduled for launch in the United Arab Emirates in early 2027.
In Brazil, Chery executives indicated that the market has capacity for multiple Chinese brands, noting that upcoming brands like iCAUR and Lepas will act as complements rather than competitors to existing lines. The company confirmed the debut of the iCAUR brand in Brazil between March and April, with the V27 model leading the rollout. Executives also noted that local production via an established plant could facilitate the introduction of models specifically tailored for the Brazilian market.
