OMODA & JAECOO launches new hybrid models in UAE and southern Africa

OMODA & JAECOO has expanded its hybrid vehicle lineup with new model launches in the UAE and southern Africa.

In the UAE, the company officially launched the OMODA O5 HEV at the Galadari Motors showroom in Sharjah. The vehicle utilizes Super Hybrid Technology (SHS), featuring a 1.5T TGDI hybrid engine and a 1.8kWh battery. It offers a WLTC comprehensive driving range of up to 1,000km and is designed to balance urban efficiency with long-distance performance.

Simultaneously, the J5 SHS has been introduced to the southern African market. This hybrid variant of the J5 crossover follows the recent release of the J5 BEV. The J5 SHS is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor, producing a combined output of 165 kW and 295 Nm of torque. It features a 1.83 kWh battery and a 51-litre fuel tank, providing a theoretical range of up to 980 km.
