Oncti launches dissemination campaign for Venezuelan scientific registry

The National Observatory of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Oncti) has launched a dissemination campaign for the self-administered methodology of the Venezuelan Registry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Recitven). The initiative aims to strengthen the national scientific and technological map by fostering a culture of periodic updates and transparency.

The first phase of the rollout, scheduled to conclude by September 30, focuses on the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology (Mincyt) in Caracas, providing direct assistance to its 26 attached entities. Following this, the program will expand throughout the Capital Region and the rest of the country.

Oncti President Dr. Roberto Betancourt A. stated that the registry, supported by the Organic Law of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Locti), is designed to unify technical criteria across basic research, applied research, and experimental development. The platform seeks to transform dispersed competencies into a strategic tool for evidence-based decision-making, identifying human talent and material resources to address national challenges. The registry is inclusive, accounting for researchers as well as technical and support staff involved in R&D activities.
