OnePlus N6 draws criticism for misleading advertising and mixed performance reviews

OnePlus’ new budget smartphone, the N6, has been accused of misleading advertising in India. Promotional material suggested a "60‑month smooth experience" and 60 fps video recording for all variants, but the company’s fine print limits those claims to the 6 GB RAM model. The cheaper 4 GB version only offers a 48‑month smoothness guarantee and caps video at 30 fps. Users on social platform X and YouTube highlighted the discrepancy, noting that product pages on the OnePlus site and Amazon India still display the unqualified claims.

A separate review of the N6 praised its standout 8,000 mAh battery with 45 W SUPERVOOC charging, clean OxygenOS 16, robust build (IP65, MIL‑STD‑810H), and a 50 MP primary camera. However, the review identified drawbacks: an HD+ display that lags behind competitors offering Full HD+, a modest software‑update policy (two years of OS upgrades, three years of security patches), and a base model using older LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.0 storage, which may affect overall performance.
