Online safety concerns rise for youth as school year begins

As the school year begins, concerns regarding the online safety of children and young people are increasing. Key risks identified include cyberbullying, which 41% of respondents in the BNP Paribas Cardif Insurance Confidence Index fear will affect their children.

Technological advancements are also introducing new threats, such as identity theft through artificial intelligence. Approximately one-third of Czech respondents expressed concern regarding AI-driven fraud involving the impersonation of family members. Experts emphasize the importance of combining digital independence with caution, teaching young people to recognize manipulation and maintain security habits like software updates and data backups.
