Johor BN chief Onn Hafiz vows inclusive campaign and rejects back‑door appointments ahead of state poll

Barisan Nasional (BN) leader and caretaker Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has framed the party’s campaign for the July 11 state election as colour‑blind and inclusive. He told supporters that BN “is not a racist party; we are blind to colour” and urged the Chinese community to work with the state government on development projects.

Onn Hafiz highlighted strong, multi‑ethnic turnout at recent rallies, citing a large crowd in Jementah that included Chinese and Indian voters. He also announced that any BN candidate who loses will not be given a “back‑door” appointment in the state government, emphasizing respect for the voters’ mandate.

The BN chief welcomed two PAS committee members from Batu Pahat who attended a BN event, describing their presence as “surprising and touching.” He reiterated that cooperation with minority communities and continued investment—such as the RM110 billion of foreign capital promised under the Johor‑Singapore Special Economic Zone—remain central to his administration’s agenda.
