Ontario Provincial Police Arrests in Break‑and‑Enter Spree Across Kawartha Lakes and Muskoka

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) announced arrests linked to two recent break‑and‑enter incidents in the province. In Emily Township, Kawartha Lakes, officers responded on August 4, 2026, and detained 36‑year‑old Ronald Shaw of Oshawa. He was charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, break‑and‑enter of a dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence, and two probation violations. A bail hearing is scheduled in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay.

Earlier, on July 28‑29, 2026, OPP officers in the Muskoka region (Bracebridge, Huntsville and Port Carling) responded to a series of break‑and‑enter and vehicle‑theft reports. Four youths – two 14‑year‑old males and two female teens aged 14 and 15 – were arrested after a coordinated response involving the OPP Emergency Response Team and K9 unit. They face charges including break‑and‑enter, mischief, motor‑vehicle theft and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and are slated to appear in youth court on September 3, 2026.
