Ontario Provincial Police arrests six in drug‑related raids

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) carried out two separate operations in Ontario. In Caledon, OPP officers responded to a March 18 shooting report and later executed warrants in Mississauga, seizing about 16.6 g of cocaine and arresting Devanie Lewis, 36, and Juan Roman De Leon, 39, on charges of cocaine trafficking and firearm offences. Police also confirmed that a circulating video of the incident originated in the United States.

In a joint raid with the Treaty Three Police Service, OPP officers searched a home on Couchiching First Nation, confiscating cocaine, cash and related items. Four people were charged: a 32‑year‑old man from Toronto (also charged with possession of proceeds of crime), a 37‑year‑old woman from Couchiching, a 70‑year‑old First Nation man, and a 60‑year‑old Couchiching woman. All face cocaine‑trafficking counts, with the Toronto man additionally facing a proceeds‑of‑crime charge.
