Ontario police seize $913,000 in drugs and firearms
An investigation led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team has resulted in charges against seven individuals and the seizure of over $913,000 worth of drugs in southwestern Ontario.
Investigators identified two independent criminal networks: one operating in the Brantford and Brant County areas, and another in London and the Oneida Nation of the Thames. Law enforcement conducted searches in Brantford, Paris, London, and the Oneida Nation of the Thames between July and August.
Seized items include 6.5 kg of suspected fentanyl—estimated to represent approximately 65,000 lethal street-level doses—420 g of suspected cocaine, and 250 g of suspected methamphetamine. Officers also recovered a handgun with an auto-switch, a rifle, prohibited magazines, ammunition, and over $100,000 in stolen property, including a 2019 Honda Civic and two camper trailers.
