OPΕΚΑ opens applications for Greek housing and regional income support

OPΕΚΑ has opened application periods for various social welfare programs in Greece, including housing allowances and income support for families in mountainous or disadvantaged regions.

The housing allowance is a provisional program for households living in rented accommodation. Applications can be submitted via the OPΕΚΑ platform or through Community Centers. Requirements include Taxisnet credentials, AMKA for all household members, a valid electronic lease (minimum 6 months), a utility bill in the applicant's name, and an active IBAN. Approved benefits are valid for six months, after which a renewal application is required.

Additionally, an annual income support program provides up to 600 euros to families residing in mountainous or disadvantaged areas to combat population decline. Applications can be submitted through gov.gr, a dedicated digital platform, or at Citizen Service Centers (KEP). The digital platform will remain open for submissions until October 30, 2026. Eligible families must include at least one Greek citizen and meet specific income and residency criteria.
