OPEKA housing allowance application process in Greece
The Greek housing allowance is a social welfare program designed for households living in rented accommodations. Applications can be submitted through the OPEKA platform using Taxisnet credentials or via local Community Centers.
To apply, households must provide several key pieces of information, including the AMKA of all household members, an active IBAN, and a utility bill (DEI) in the name of an applicant or household member. The electronic rental agreement must be valid for at least six months from the date of submission.
The digital process involves several steps: logging into the platform, obtaining consent from other adult household members via their own Taxisnet credentials, verifying automatically pulled tax data, and entering the electronic rental agreement number. Once approved, the allowance is valid for six months, after which a new application must be submitted for renewal.
