OPEKA opens income support applications for mountainous regions
The Organization for Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity (OPEKA) has opened its digital platform for the distribution of annual income support to families residing in mountainous and disadvantaged areas of Greece. The application process began on September 1.
To qualify, at least one family member must be a citizen of Greece, an EU member state, an EEA member (Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein), or a Swiss citizen. Applicants must have resided permanently in the designated areas for at least two consecutive years, as verified by tax returns.
The annual family income must not exceed €4,700. Families with an income up to €3,000 are eligible for €600 annually, while those with an income between €3,000.01 and €4,700 are eligible for €300. Applications are submitted electronically via the gov.gr portal using Taxisnet credentials.
