Greece social security agencies announce major pension and benefit payments

Greek social security and employment agencies, including e-EFKA, DYPA, and OPΕΚΑ, have announced extensive payment schedules for pensions and social benefits through early September 2026.

Between August 24 and August 28, e-EFKA and DYPA scheduled payments totaling over 2.48 billion euros to more than 4.3 million beneficiaries. This includes September pension payments for various funds and various unemployment and maternity benefits from DYPA. Additionally, a new regulation regarding survivor pensions is being implemented, restoring benefits to 70% for certain beneficiaries, which may result in increases of up to 470 euros.

OPΕΚΑ is scheduled to distribute approximately 180.87 million euros to 570,792 beneficiaries on August 31. These payments cover a wide range of social assistance, including disability benefits, housing allowances, and the Minimum Guaranteed Income. Some benefits, such as the Minimum Guaranteed Income and birth/adoption allowances, are distributed via prepaid cards.

From August 31 to September 4, e-EFKA and DYPA will continue disbursements totaling approximately 88.8 million euros to 116,143 beneficiaries. This includes pension advances, maternity leave, unemployment benefits, and employment program subsidies.
