OPEKEPE to distribute 75.6 million euros in agricultural subsidies this October
OPEKEPE and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) have announced a series of agricultural payments scheduled for October. A total of 75.6 million euros is expected to be distributed to 61,450 beneficiaries. These funds cover various programs, including 2024 ecological schemes, 2025 organic farming, rare indigenous breeds, and Comphuzio. Additionally, payments will address sectoral programs for viticulture, fruit growing, beekeeping, and vineyards, alongside settlements for basic and redistributive aid for 2024.
To avoid penalties, authorities aim to credit at least 86.3 million euros by October 16, covering remaining 2025 obligations such as agro-environmental programs. Some reports suggest that certain 2024 residual payments may be delayed until December due to administrative restructuring.
Furthermore, a special 50 million euro state aid program is being processed to compensate farmers for production losses exceeding 30% caused by frosts in March and April 2025. Individual compensation under this program may reach up to 200,000 euros per beneficiary.
